Frequently Asked Questions
Custom metal fabrication is metalwork that’s designed, cut, welded, and finished to your exact specifications, instead of being pulled off a shelf as a standard product. At Andee Fabricators, every custom fabrication Sydney job — steel frames, brackets, mezzanine components, canopies, architectural pieces — is drawn and built from scratch at our Minto workshop to suit your project’s dimensions, load, and finish requirements.
Pricing depends on the material (mild steel, structural steel, galvanised, aluminium or stainless), the complexity of the design, the finish (paint, powder coat, or galvanised), and the volume. Because every job is bespoke, we quote each project individually after a consultation and drawings, so you get a transparent, itemised price rather than a generic per-kilo figure.
Lead times depend on project size, material availability, and finishing requirements. Straightforward brackets or frames can move quickly, while larger structural or architectural work with powder coating or galvanising takes longer. Once we’ve seen your specifications, we confirm a realistic turnaround upfront — before you commit.
Both. If you already have engineered drawings, we work directly from them. If you don’t, we start with an on-site measure and consultation, then produce detailed shop drawings for your approval before fabrication begins. Every design and build is completed to Australian standards.
Our custom fabrication workshop in Sydney regularly works with mild steel, structural steel, galvanised steel, aluminium, and stainless steel. We help you select the right material based on load, environment (indoor, outdoor, coastal, industrial), and finish requirements during the quote stage.
No — all fabrication is completed at our Minto workshop. Finished items are ready for collection or delivery, and installation is handled by your own builder, trade, or installer. This keeps our pricing lean and lets us focus on precision workmanship in a controlled workshop environment.
We take on both. Andee Fabricators handles one-off custom brackets and small trade jobs as well as larger commercial and industrial fabrication work for retail fit-outs, warehouses, hospitality projects, and builder partnerships. If it’s custom and it’s metal, it’s worth a conversation.
Yes. A significant portion of our custom metal fabrication in Sydney is delivered through ongoing partnerships with builders, trades, shopfitters, and commercial contractors. We’re used to working from architect drawings, hitting site programme dates, and delivering finished components ready for install.
We finish projects with paint, powder coating, or hot-dip galvanising, chosen based on where the item will be used and how long it needs to last. Finish is confirmed at the quote stage so there are no surprises on cost or lead time.
Our workshop is at 15/13 Swaffham Rd, Minto NSW 2566, and we service clients across Greater Sydney and wider NSW — including South West Sydney, Western Sydney, the Inner West, Sutherland Shire, the CBD, and Northern suburbs. Items are available for pickup at our Minto workshop or delivered to your site.
