Frequently Asked Questions
Custom storage racks are shelving and racking systems designed and fabricated around your exact load requirements, floor space, and workflow — rather than picked from a fixed-size catalogue. Standard off-the-shelf racking forces you to design your space around the rack; custom racking works the opposite way. At Andee Fabricators, every rack is built from scratch at our Minto workshop to Australian standards, so it fits your space and handles your loads without compromise.
Pricing depends on the size of the rack, the steel gauge required for your load, the number of levels, whether it’s fixed or adjustable, finishing (paint, powder coat, or galvanising), and total quantity. Because every job is custom, we quote each rack system individually after understanding your space and load requirements — you get an itemised, transparent price before any fabrication begins.
Yes — this is one of the main reasons clients choose custom over off-the-shelf. We build racks to fit around structural columns, sloped floors, low ceilings, mezzanine cut-outs, and other irregular layouts that standard racking simply won’t work with. We measure your space, design around the constraints, and deliver a rack system that uses every usable square metre.
No. All racks are fabricated at our Minto workshop and delivered ready for your team, in-house maintenance crew, or installer to fit on-site. This keeps our pricing focused on precision fabrication rather than installation labour, and lets you use your preferred installer.
We build custom storage racks, industrial shelving systems, heavy-duty pallet and load racking, and custom warehouse racking for irregular spaces. Applications include heavy-duty load storage, warehouse storage, commercial storage, and workshop storage — from single racks to complete warehouse fit-outs.
Load capacity is determined by the design — steel gauge, upright and beam configuration, bracing, and welding — all engineered around the load you specify. When you brief us, tell us the weight per level, whether it’s palletised, boxed, or loose stock, and we’ll design the rack to safely handle it with an appropriate safety margin.
It depends on how your warehouse actually operates. Standard pallet racking works well for uniform pallet loads in regular grid layouts. Custom racking wins when you have irregular stock sizes, awkward floor spaces, mixed load types, or workflow patterns that off-the-shelf racking can’t accommodate. In a lot of Sydney warehouses, the best solution is a mix of both — and we can design custom racks that integrate cleanly with your existing pallet racking.
Yes. Workshop storage is a significant part of what we do — including tool racks, equipment racks, part storage, and workbench-integrated shelving. Every workshop is different, so we build around your actual equipment, tooling, and how your team works, rather than forcing a warehouse-scale product into a workshop footprint.
Lead times depend on the size of the rack system, quantity, steel availability, and finishing. A small workshop rack turns around faster than a full warehouse fit-out. Once we’ve measured your space and confirmed drawings, we give you a realistic timeline before you commit — so you can plan the install date and any warehouse downtime accordingly.
