Frequently Asked Questions

What kind of trailer repairs do you do in Sydney?

Andee Fabricators handles structural trailer repairs, reinforcement work, rust and weld repairs, chassis and frame straightening, and custom modifications on box trailers, enclosed trailers, tradie trailers, cargo trailers, and personal-use trailers. Every job is assessed at our Minto workshop and completed to Australian standards, whether it’s a small weld repair or a full structural rebuild.

Can you modify my existing trailer instead of me buying a new one?

Yes — modifying your existing trailer is often the more cost-effective path. We reconfigure interior storage, add fittings and shelving, modify access points and doors, reinforce weak sections, and upgrade axles or components. If the base chassis is sound, custom trailer modifications in Sydney usually deliver better value than replacing the whole trailer.

How much does trailer repair cost in Sydney?

Cost depends on the extent of the damage, materials required, welding involved (mild steel, galvanised, or aluminium), and any finishing like paint or powder coat. Because every trailer arrives with a different condition and history, we assess it in-workshop first and give you a transparent quote before any work starts.

Do I need to bring my trailer to your workshop, or do you come to me?

All repairs and modifications are carried out at our Minto workshop (15/13 Swaffham Rd, Minto NSW 2566). Bringing the trailer in lets us properly inspect the chassis, welds, and structural condition — which is essential for accurate quoting and a safe, compliant repair.

Can you repair a rusted or cracked trailer chassis?

Yes. Structural trailer repairs are one of our core services. We cut out corroded or cracked sections, weld in new steel, and reinforce stress points so the chassis returns to safe working strength. Once repaired, the trailer can be finished with paint, powder coat, or galvanising to protect against future corrosion.

Can you upgrade my trailer's axles, springs, or load capacity?

Yes. Common trailer upgrades we perform include replacing or upgrading axles, springs, couplings, doors, fittings, and reinforcing the chassis to handle heavier loads. If you’re upgrading load capacity, we’ll flag anything that may need engineer certification or registration paperwork so you know before we start.

Do you repair aluminium trailers as well as steel?

Yes. Our workshop handles both steel and aluminium trailers, including MIG and TIG welding on aluminium. If you have a lighter-weight aluminium trailer that needs structural repair, reinforcement, or a fitting upgrade, bring it in for assessment.

Many modifications are legal without formal certification, but some — particularly changes to load capacity (ATM/GTM), axle configuration, or chassis structure — may require engineer sign-off and re-registration with Transport for NSW. During your quote, we’ll flag anything likely to trigger a certification requirement so you can plan for it upfront.

Can you add custom storage, shelving, or racking inside my trailer?

Yes — this is one of our most common custom modification jobs in Sydney. We build custom internal shelving, tool racks, drawer systems, tie-down points, and workbench mounts inside enclosed trailers and toolbox trailers, tailored to the way you actually work.

Do you also build custom trailers from scratch?

Yes. Alongside repairs and modifications, we’re custom trailer manufacturers in Sydney — building steel and aluminium trailers from the ground up at our Minto workshop. If your existing trailer is beyond economical repair, or you need something purpose-built, we can quote a new custom trailer as an alternative.
